But, like many experiences that women face, I hit the ceiling.

Unless I was going to move my family, I couldn't grow into any upward positions.

Many of you know how this feels, whether we agree or disagree with how upward mobility in a company sometimes works.

That is what I was faced with and, honestly, I'd been facing it for a while.

So I felt this deep desire to take a risk and make a change.

I reflect back on many of the leadership conferences I've attended.

Each one had this message of hope take a risk, take control, be in charge of your career so you can win at life.

Well, I am thrilled to announce that I've joined a dynamic dealership brokerage firm, Performance Brokerage Services.

It's a family-owned company where we help dealers buy and sell their dealerships.

While it was sort of a logical transition for me, based on my interests and specific work experience with dealers, it was still a bit scary to make the change and to take that leap of faith.

But it's a new chapter filled with fresh challenges and a lot of possibilities.

One of the aspects of this move that I'm most excited about is that I'm one of the few women in the dealership brokerage space.

I look at that as a huge opportunity.
